Meet Sammi Adams

Sammi Adams is a junior majoring in Biology with plans to go to medical school. Her dream job is to be either a Pediatrician or OB/GYN.

“I have always wanted a job where I could work with people, and in high school I took Anatomy which really sparked my interest in the human body and helped me decide to that the pre-health track,” Adams said.

On campus, Adams is involved in the Pre-Medicine Club and she is a Pre-Health Ambassador. She also works in the Department of Biology as a student assistant. These activities have allowed her to meet new friends and network with professionals in her field.

“I feel like being involved in these have better rounded my college experience and given me more opportunities,” Adams said

Adams has a passion for helping people, which shows through her volunteer work. She helps serve meals to the homeless at her church every week, as well as volunteers with the Special Olympics.

Someone who has positively impacted Adams’ college experience is her former adviser, Dr. Kent Kerby. He also was a leader for her CAT community during her first semester of college.

“Dr. Kerby helped me really solidify my decision to continue in pre-medicine and gave myself and my peers awesome opportunities to learn about the healthcare field and really connect with it!” Adams said.

Adams chose Theta because she had genuine conversation with the women and made connections with them. Through Theta, she has had the opportunity to participate in Wildcat Request Live, a dance competition during homecoming week.

“Theta has not only given me new friends, but also many opportunities to better myself,” Adams said. “Theta has been a good base for me to grow as a person and learn throughout my college experience, and has really kept me grounded through the crazy years that are college!”
