April Big/Little of the Month

This month’s big/little pair of the month is Megan Kocer and Rachael Jongsma. Megan is a sophomore majoring in pre-journalism and mass communications, and Rachel is a sophomore majoring in family studies and human services.

Megan said her favorite memory with Rachael is when Rachael rolled her out of bed at 6 a.m. one morning to watch the sunrise at the Konza.

“There is absolutely no greater joy than starting my morning by talking about life with my best friend,” Megan said. “It was a very stressful week, and Rachael was well aware of that, but her words of wisdom have kept me going through even the toughest of days. I am forever grateful and blessed to have such a wonderful influence in my life.”

Rachael said her favorite memory with Megan is also the morning they got up to hike the Konza and watch the sunrise.

“Blankets wrapped around us and coffee in hand, that morning was easily my favorite morning of this entire year,” Rachael said.

Megan said what she admires most about Rachael is her big heart and how she radiates pure joy.

“She is definitely who I aspire to be more like, and her continuous love helps me to become a better person and friend every single day,” Megan said.

Rachael said what she admires most about Megan is her ability to love.

“She has such a big heart and always chooses to see the best in people,” Rachael said. “She has an ability to make anyone laugh. No matter the time of day, I know she is there for me if I need her. Her heart is filled with joy and love.”

Megan said she knew immediately during big/little reveal that her and Rachael were meant to be big/little.

“Rachael’s hiding place was in a bathroom stall with her puzzle piece was hanging over the side,” Megan said. “After finding her, she then proceeded to get her cardigan stuck on the door handle and fell right on her face. That is the moment I realized we were meant for each other.”

Rachael said she was not expecting Megan to be her little, but she is so thankful she is.

“She truly is a ray of sunshine in my life,” Rachael said. “I remember on big/little reveal day I did not have her puzzle piece finished so I wrote jokes on it 2 minutes before reveal started. From the first day, our friendship has been exactly what I dreamed it would be, real.”

Megan said what makes Rachael a good big is how similar Rachael is to her.

“Not only do we absolutely love food and John Mayer, but we also both have the worst hygiene,” Megan said. “On a more serious note, we both find the beauty in the little things, and share a love for anything and everything outdoors.”

Rachael said what makes Megan a good little is they both love the same things.

“We have a mutual love for John Mayer and chicken nuggets,” Rachael said. “What more do you need?”

March Big/Little of the Month

This month’s big/little pair of the month is Allison Sears and Abigail Dressler. Allison is a sophomore majoring in family and consumer sciences education and Abigail is a freshman majoring in communication studies.

Allison said that her favorite memory with Abigail is when they road tripped to Kansas City for the Brett Eldridge and Thomas Rhett concert.

“We got to sing to the radio and have fun on the way there, and then the concert was a blast,” Allison said.

Abigail’s favorite memory with Allison was when Allison took her to sonic and they realized that they both have an obsession with Nick Jonas.

“That was when I knew I had to have her in my life,” Abigail said.

Allison said that the quality that she admires most in Abigail is her passion and love for life.

“She is always greeting everyone in her life with a huge smile,” Allison said. “The qualities I see in her make me want to be a better Theta and just a better person in general.”

Abigail said that the quality she admires most in Allison is her ambition.

“She strives to be the best that she can be at so many things,” Abigail said. “She is involved in so much and always has time to take a trip somewhere and make memories with her friends.”

Allison said that she was so excited to get Abigail as her little, and that she will never forget the look on her face when she revealed that she was Abigail’s big.

“It was so fun to give Abigail hints about me during big/little week,” Allison said. “I may have fibbed a little bit, but that ultimately made reveal such a great experience.”

Abigail said that she was the happiest person in the world when she found out that Allison was her big.

“Allison had lied to me all week with hints she gave me so I was sure that I did not have her as a big,” Abigail said. “Then when I found out that she had the other half of my puzzle piece I screamed out loud. I was so surprised! Best day ever!”

Allison said what makes Abigail a good little is that she is laid back and has brought out a motherly side of her that she did not know existed.

“We do anything from going to country concerts, basketball games and share a love for Nick Jonas,” Allison said. “I love all of the moments we spend together.”

Abigail said what makes Allison a good big is that she has made Theta a home and has made her feel like a part of something so great.

“She is the person that I lean on when my life seems like a mini tornado,” Abigail said. “She always has a smile on her face and that makes me smile too. I am for sure the luckiest little in the world.”

February Big/Little of the Month

February’s big/little pair of the month is Kenzie Hemmert and Morgan Jones. Kenzie is a sophomore majoring in elementary education, and Morgan is a junior majoring in human resource management with a minor in leadership studies.

Kenzie’s favorite memory with Morgan was having Morgan as her bid-day buddy. She said that she was so excited to be joining Theta and having Morgan as one of her first friends made her experience in Theta that much greater.

“That first night we went to Sonic and Manhattan Hill and it is one of my very first and favorite memories I have at K-State,” Kenzie said.

Morgan’s favorite memory with Kenzie was big/little reveal. She said that she loved surprising Kenzie after the clues during reveal week.

Kenzie said that Morgan’s best quality is that she has a really bubbly personality, which she adores.

“I love that Morgan is always so fun and enjoyable to be around. No matter what we are doing, I always have a great time with her,” Kenzie said. “She can definitely light up the room with her presence.”

Morgan said that she likes how genuine and passionate Kenzie is about everything that she is involved in.

“Kenzie is the most kind person I know,” Morgan said. “She is always smiling and asking about your life, rather than talking about hers.”

Kenzie said that what makes Morgan a good big is that she has always been a really great friend to her.

“I can go to her with anything and I know she is always there for me,” Kenzie said. “She brings me so much happiness.”

Morgan said that what makes Kenzie a good little is that even if they do not talk every day, Kenzie never fails to put a smile on her face and make her feel loved.
