Heather Albers is a junior majoring in Apparel and Textile Marketing, and minoring in Leadership Studies, Business, and Statistics. She chose this path because she is passionate about it and her mother also majored in the same thing.
“I hope to be a trend forecaster for a retailing corporation. Reading and interpreting numbers is something I enjoy doing so I hope to use my statistics minor in my career,” Albers said.
On campus, Albers is involved in the College of Human Ecology College Council, Apparel Textile and Interior Design Alliance, and Cats for Inclusion, and she is also going to be a Union Program Council Co-Chairman next year. Her community involvement includes volunteering to help the Animal Welfare Society in Manhattan.
“I like staying busy,” Albers said. “I don’t like having too much free time on my hands!”
One thing that has impacted her college experience is the Leadership Studies Department.
“The program has allowed me to grow so much as a person and that is something I will always be grateful for,” Albers said.
Albers chose Theta because her aunt was a Theta at K-State as well. She said that being able to share that with her is very special.
“I can’t imagine how different my college experience would be if I didn’t have all of my friends walking through this journey with me,” Albers said. “The women of Kappa Alpha Theta are one of a kind and I am grateful for every one of them.”
